My name is Melissa and yes, that photo over there is me featuring my favorite plushie named Nyuwi. Somnia Memorias is my daily journal written in mixed language: Bahasa Indonesia and English. This is the place where I share my thoughts, opinions and interests to whom that appreciates it. The name Somnia Memorias is taken from a theme song of an RPG game from Square for PlayStation called Parasite Eve.
I entered the blogging world since July 2002, with Jinx as my first *messy and teenish* blog. I lost all the old archives, but some can be found here and here through the Internet Archive.
I'm 22, Indonesian, a Christian and I lived in Jakarta, Indonesia. I have just graduated from the Trisakti University with a degree in Medicine, and currently I'm still on my medical internship. I always wanted to become a physician since elementary school, and now I'm so happy to know that I already one step closer to achieve my dream job.
I lived with my parents, my little brother and my lovely pets: an ex-stray dog, a hedgehog, 5 dwarf hamsters and some fishes in our pond. My dad's hardly ever home, as he does business overseas. My brother's currently studying abroad in Melbourne, Australia. I considered myself lucky because I have always lived under the warmth of a loving family.
I was born with allergic rhinitis, a disease that caused me a lot of troubles because of its flu-like symptoms such as repetitive sneezing, eye tearing and sore throat. I must carry a pack of tissues everywhere I go. At first I was bothered, but now I can get along pretty well with this annoying disease and I already learn how to control it. The hardest part is when I have to explain quite a few times about my incurable rhinitis to my friends, since they always asked things like, "Caught a cold again, Mel?" or something like that.
My hobbies are reading, watching movies, traveling, playing video games and J-stuff especially manga and anime. I also enjoy going out with my family, cousins and friends for road trips, drinks and movies. I also interested in extreme sports. I only experienced the bungee jumping so far, but I'm dying to try another one like skydiving or hang gliding :P
My current activities: I play electone for my church on Sunday once or twice a month, practicing Aikido twice a week and trying to learn the japanese language through self-study.
